Greene County Presiding Commissioner Bob Dixon was chosen by peers in Missouri to serve on a national board.

Members of the Missouri Association of Counties voted this month to select Dixon as the Show-Me State representative for the National Association of Counties Board of Directors, according to a news release.

“NACo and counties across the country will be well served by Commissioner Dixon’s experience and dedication to public service,” NACo President Gary Moore said in the release. “We are grateful to have his perspective on the board of directors as counties face unprecedented challenges and opportunities.”

NACo has nearly 40,000 elected county officials and 3.6 million county employees as members.

In his role with the NACo board, Dixon plans to advocate for county priorities in federal policymaking, best practices, the optimization of county and taxpayer resources and cost savings, and public understanding, among other topics, according to the release.

“I am honored to serve on the NACo board of directors, and I look forward to the opportunity to help increase membership as well as help facilitate strong communication between MAC and the national organization,” Dixon said in the release.
