Description: North Point Church in Nixa is getting some elbow room with its new campus under construction at North Main Street and East Tracker Road. The church is housed in a former shopping center at 1362 Bryan Drive, but leaders say it is outgrowing the space. The church’s website notes the new structure, a metal building, will more than double the auditorium capacity to 600 seats. Pastor Jeremy Alvarez highlighted the kids’ area in video comments: “If you’ve been in our kids’ area any time recently, you know we definitely need the space, so it’s going to be timely.” HouseRight Production (Lexington, Kentucky) is serving as audiovisual, lighting and acoustics consultant for the project. Architect Chris Loehr said the building has a basic design. “It’s fairly utilitarian,” he said. “Largely, the focus is on getting them the square footage and spaces they need. They can spend their money on the inside with the things they can actually use versus prettying it up.” With regular collections for charitable donations, North Point devotes a portion of its space to giving, with contributions of food, school supplies and disaster relief items, and a donation is made to a food pantry in honor of every first-time guest to the church, according to its annual report.
