Project description: Construction at Nixa High School’s stadium will increase capacity to over 4,400 home team and visitor spectators, up from 2,500 fans, said Nixa Public Schools spokesperson Zac Rantz. The improvements are part of a $15 million bond issue passed by voters in 2019. Design plans call for a 3,200-seat stadium; a 10-room press box with restrooms and an elevator; visitor team bleachers; concession stands and restrooms, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Nixa Public Schools this fall plans to hold sporting events with spectators at the stadium, said Rantz, adding the district has created multiple safety plans in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
