Project description: West Des Moines, Iowa-based Kum & Go continues to rebuild its stores in the Springfield market. The latest, in south Springfield, was demolished earlier this year, and it will be replaced with the convenience store chain’s Marketplace concept, said Scott McGee, Kum & Go’s director of site development and construction. Officials say company investments since 2012, and continuing through next year, will amount to $140 million for construction projects in the Springfield metropolitan statistical area. Kum & Go now has 46 stores in the area, including locations in the cities of Ozark, Republic and Clever, representing 11% of its total store count.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
