Project description: Northwest of the Glenstone Avenue and James River Freeway interchange, Kum & Go is replacing a convenience store in the continued rollout of its Marketplace concept in the Springfield area. The stores include an open kitchen layout, indoor seating, complimentary Wi-Fi and charging stations, said company spokesperson Ariel Rubin. Kum & Go is on track this year to wrap up some $140 million in planned investments in local stores that started in 2012, Rubin said. The company currently operates 45 stores in the Springfield area.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
