Project description: Cox Medical Center Branson is adding a new central utility plant in a $12 million expansion project to its Branson hospital. CoxHealth will use the three-story addition to consolidate and store its utility equipment in a controlled space for extended life and efficient maintenance, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. Officials have said the project is part of a 10-year plan to reduce utility and maintenance costs and the redundancy of major building systems. CoxHealth bought the hospital, formerly Skaggs Regional Medical Center, in 2013 and that year invested at least $30 million in a new emergency department and an expanded coronary care unit.
