Project description: A new Christian County Ambulance District headquarters is nearing completion in Ozark – a more central location that will aid in response times, according to CCAD Administrator Christie Thompson. She said the former location, 1750 S. 15th Ave., was on the southeast edge of the city, heading toward Sparta, but growth in Ozark has occurred to the north and northwest of the city. The new headquarters, near the intersection of U.S. Highway 65 and State Highway 14, has five bays to accommodate up to 10 trucks, and one of them is also a wash bay. Thompson said it will house administrative offices and a workspace for CoxHealth personnel, as CCAD is a contracted service provider for the health system. Additionally, a community room with seating for up to 100 people will be available at no charge. Thompson said another ambulance district project is right around the corner. “As soon as we’re done with this, we’re breaking down plans for a new station in Nixa,” she said. Work on that project should start in August, she said
