Project description: Ankeny, Iowa-based Casey’s General Stores is opening its 10th convenience store and gas station in Springfield. On the east side of town, the newest property has six fuel pumps and a diesel island. It’s also outfitted with a redesigned logo – no longer calling it a “General Store” – for the chain that operates 328 stores in Missouri and over 2,200 across 16 states, according to company officials. Shannon Gerard, a senior site development manager for Casey’s, said the store was scheduled to open Jan. 28. She said the rebranded logo was unveiled late last year. Officials say the store is outfitted with a commercial kitchen to prepare pizzas, sandwiches and bakery items. In recent months, Casey’s launched private-branded snacks and drinks on its store shelves.
