Public accounting firm FORVIS LLP inked an acquisition deal for an Oklahoma firm.
FORVIS, which operates in Springfield at 910 St. Louis St., closed yesterday on the purchase of Oklahoma City-based James R. Minnix, CPA Inc. PC, according to a news release. The financial terms were undisclosed.
As part of the deal, 14 of the Oklahoma City firm's team members are joining FORVIS. That includes owner and President James “Rusty” Minnix, who now is a partner at FORVIS.
“With the evolution of our industry, we are seeing high demand for outsourced accounting and tax management services that Minnix has extensive experience providing,” said Carley Williams, managing partner of FORVIS’ Oklahoma practice unit, which includes offices in Tulsa, Oklahoma City and Enid, in the release. “Rusty and his team bring a personalized approach to client service, and, together, we will continue to provide innovative offerings that fit our clients’ unique needs.”
Minnix became a partner in his family accounting firm in 1996. He then expanded the firm, which dates back to the 1960s, to Oklahoma City in 2008 to accommodate a growing client base.
FORVIS has roughly 150 employees at three offices in Oklahoma, according to the release.
After its merger with North Carolina-based DHG earlier this year, FORVIS ranked No. 8 in August on Inside Public Accounting's list of the top U.S. accounting firms, according to past reporting. FORVIS reported revenue of nearly $1.5 billion for the IPA list.
FORVIS in September purchased the assets of Louisville, Kentucky-based ProBank Austin, according to past reporting.
