Former ReeceNichols building sold

Posted online

The former ReeceNichols Real Estate building on South National Avenue has been sold, and a medical clinic is planned at the site.

Ken Schwab, an agent with Wilhoit Properties Inc., said the 12,000-square-foot building, at 3600 S. National Ave., was purchased by Eustasis Developments LLC. He said Dr. Alok Jain, owner of mental health service provider Eustasis, is planning a clinic at the building. Eustasis currently operates in leased space at the National Place multitenant building a few blocks away at 3100 S. National Ave.

"I was fortunate to negotiate the sale of the building once again, to a company that will retrofit the facility for a medical practice," Schwab said via email.

Schwab said he sold the building in February 2019 to an investor group, which leased the building back to ReeceNichols through April 15. ReeceNichols has relocated its local office to 3626 S. Campbell Ave. in Kickapoo Corners.

Greene County recorder documents show Eustasis purchased the building on April 16 from Brochacho LLC. A deed of trust for the property between Eustasis and Hawthorn Bank lists a $3.6 million note amount.

The former ReeceNichols building was constructed by Carol Jones Realtors, Schwab said. CJR merged with Leawood, Kansas-based Reece & Nichols Realtors Inc. in 2018. They were sister companies owned by Minneapolis-based national real estate firm HomeServices of America, an affiliate of Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Energy, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.

ReeceNichols' Springfield office is managed by Rick Witeka, according to its website. Shaun Duggins, the former president of the company's southern region who previously was CEO of CJR, now operates a ReeceNichols group in the West Plains area, according to ShaunDugginsGroup.ReeceNichols.com.
