Jerald Andrews, the former longtime leader of the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and the Price Cutter Charity Championship, has joined Bolivar's Citizens Memorial Hospital.

He's now a campaign manager for the CMH Health Care Foundation, according to a news release issued May 19. The position focuses on fundraising and development.

“We are so fortunate to have Jerald’s experience and knowledge of CMH on our team to support our development efforts,” said Michael Calhoun, CEO and executive director of CMH and the CMH Foundation, in the release. “Growing a culture of giving is part of our current strategic plan that I am confident Jerald will help us achieve. He is working alongside Wren Hall, our director of community relations and development, to cultivate relationships with donors throughout our service area.”

A lifelong Polk County resident, Andrews graduated from Southwest Baptist University and worked at the school for 17 years.

Andrews retired last year from the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and PCCC after 28 years.

“I knew as I was preparing for retirement that I wanted to remain active while contributing to the area in a special way,” Andrews said in the release. “Since being involved in some early meetings related to the establishment of a hospital in Bolivar over 40 years ago, I have always been interested in the further development and advancement of CMH. I am thrilled to have an opportunity to contribute in this capacity, which can have a significant impact on the operations, the new facility and the health care provided to the residents of the community and the hospital district.”
