The U.S. Small Business Administration and the Treasury Department this morning disclosed the names of businesses that have received loans through the Paycheck Protection Program.
The data name businesses that received at least $150,000 through the program offered amid the coronavirus pandemic. More than 650 loans going to Springfield businesses met the criteria. The data also show nearly 4,000 loans of less than $150,000 were approved for Springfield businesses, though the companies’ names have been withheld.
Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of the seven Queen City companies that received between $5 million and $10 million. The exact amounts were not disclosed.
The businesses, in alphabetical order, are:
• Chicago Bread LLC;
• Indiana Western Express Inc.;
• Integrity Home Care LLC;
• Ozarks Coca-Cola/Dr Pepper Bottling Co.;
• Redneck Inc.;
• Springfield Grocer Co.; and
• Wendy's of New England LLC.
The data release by the SBA and Treasury Department follows fervent requests from stakeholders such as newspapers.
"Today’s release of loan data strikes the appropriate balance of providing the American people with transparency, while protecting sensitive payroll and personal income information of small businesses, sole proprietors and independent contractors," Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said in the release.
To date, 4.9 million PPP loans have been approved, according to the release. President Donald Trump this weekend signed a bill to expand the deadline to apply until Aug. 8.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
