Feast Magazine to end coverage in Springfield, other markets

Posted online

Feast Magazine, which for years has covered restaurants in Springfield and a handful of other cities, is shifting its focus to its home market of St. Louis.

The magazine is owned by Davenport, Iowa-based Lee Enterprises Inc. (Nasdaq: LEE), which also owns the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. A statement was provided to Springfield Business Journal by Post-Dispatch Director of Public Relations Tracy Rouch.

"Beginning in June, Feast will be focusing on news content from the St. Louis metropolitan area," the statement reads.

Rouch declined to elaborate and was unsure when Feast started covering restaurants in the Springfield area.

Lee Enterprises additionally is ending distribution of Feast in Columbia, Jefferson City, Rolla and Kansas City amid staffing cuts, according to reporting by the St. Louis Business Journal.

Recent coverage in Springfield has focused on businesses including Greek Belly, Great Escape Beer Works and Ebbets Field. Freelance writers often pen pieces about Springfield-area businesses for the magazine.
