An Evangel University vice president is retiring after 35 years with the school.

Sheri Phillips, vice president for student development, is scheduled to exit May 15, according to a news release. She's held the vice president position for eight years.

“Sheri has served Evangel in several roles that have had a tremendous and lasting impact on the university,” said Michael Kolstad, vice president for university advancement, in the release. “She has been a tireless professional, an incredibly helpful co-worker and a good friend."

As student development leader, Phillips oversees community and spiritual life, student activities, housing, public safety, counseling and health services. She's additionally a member of the president's cabinet and the university planning council.

Evangel expects to announce an interim vice president for student development in the coming weeks, according to the release.
