Springfield-based Equality Healthcare LLC expanded this month with the addition of Dr. Jim Blaine’s clinic at Digital Monitoring Products Inc.
The direct primary care practice took over operations of a clinic inside DMP’s headquarters at the Partnership Industrial Center, said Equality Healthcare co-owner Dr. Shelby Smith.
"They've got a pretty amazing facility, a new clinic that they opened in 2017," he said. "We're leasing the space from them."
Smith declined to disclose financial details associated with the deal. The clinic at DMP spans 1,300 square feet, he said.
At the DMP Family Clinic, Equality Healthcare takes over following the Jan. 1 retirement of Blaine. Equality Healthcare in 2017 assumed operations of a similar clinic started by Blaine at Ozarks Technical Community College, Smith said.
Smith, whose Equality Healthcare also operates a clinic downtown at 420 W. College St., said the DMP site serves employees and their family members.
Equality Healthcare hired Dr. Rachel Toth, formerly of Cox Health Center Steeplechase, to help out with coverage at the DMP clinic. Toth also will see her own patients outside of DMP Family Clinic hours, Smith said.
Equality Healthcare was founded in 2015.
