Drury makes six leadership promotions

Posted online

Drury University is promoting six members of its leadership ranks in a move sparked, in part, by retirements.

The roles cover operations including academic programs, marketing and communications, facilities and technology services, according to a news release.

Shannon Cuff, dean of the Drury School of Education and Child Development, was named associate provost of adult, online and graduate education, a role through which she'll oversee the school's evening and online programs, known as Drury Go, and graduate-level academic programs. She's slated to take on the role in January, succeeding the retiring Regina Waters.

Natalie Precise is taking over as interim dean to succeed Cuff at the education and child development program, according to the release. Precise's leadership roles at Drury have included faculty governance co-chair and faculty advising fellow.

After the retirement of Wendy Flanagan in May, Sarah Nenninger officially was appointed executive director of marketing and communications. She became the permanent executive director last month after serving in the interim.

Aaron Jones, Drury's executive vice president for university relations and general counsel, was tapped to lead the university's evening and online operations in an interim capacity, a leadership role he previously held 2012-17, according to the release. An early 2021 start for a permanent appointment for the position is expected. Drury spokesperson Mike Brothers said Kimbrea Browning, the current vice president of evening and online programs, is moving out of state after recently becoming engaged.

Drury also announced that earlier this year it promoted Brandon Gammill to vice president of facilities operations and Val Serafimov to vice president of technology services. Both promotions mark expansions of their existing duties, according to Brothers.
