Curb Appeal: 13 high-dollar homes listed in February

February brought with it 13 high-dollar home listings to the Springfield marketplace, more than the previous two months, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of single-family homes within city limits that have an asking price of $500,000 or more. Thirteen properties made the list in February, compared with 10 in January and six in December.

The 13 homes listed during February have combined asking prices of $10.7 million, according to the MLS.

In other real estate news, Ozarks Transportation Organization this month released its annual growth trends report, showing the number of permitted housing units in the area during 2019.

Total residential units permitted in 2019 came to 1,173, a nearly 38% decrease from 1,884 in 2018. Multifamily permits dropped 73% to 263, while single-family units were up 1.4% to 914.

In Springfield, building permits were down overall to 122, an 83% decrease from 731 units in 2018. Multifamily dropped 87% to 95 units, according to the OTO report.

The report covers Springfield, Battlefield, Nixa, Ozark, Republic, Strafford, Willard and other areas of Greene and Christian counties.
