Curb Appeal: 112 acres near development hotbed hit market

Posted online

Roughly 112 acres of increasingly valuable real estate were listed on the market last month along with single-family homes, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of single-family homes within city limits that have an asking price of $500,000 or more. In January, four listings met the criteria, the same number as in December.

The two highest-priced properties in the mix last month have 112.3 acres between them with transportation access to I-44. The properties are near each other toward the intersection of James River Freeway and the interstate.

The properties also are located within miles of development sites in Republic for Amazon.com Inc. (Nasdaq: AMZN) and Convoy of Hope.

The property listings could spell more future growth in the developing area southeast of Springfield and northeast of Republic.

A growing list of construction projects are underway in Republic, including an approximately $5 million "super clinic" for CoxHealth and $15 million mixed-use development called 60 West.
