An annual Citizens Memorial Hospital golf tournament has raised money to provide financial aid for health care students.
The Citizens Memorial Health Care Foundation Medical Excellence Golf Classic, held June 1 at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club in Bolivar, raised more than $55,000, according to a news release.
"None of this would be possible without the support and participation of our amazing sponsors, volunteers and the staff at Silo Ridge Golf and Country Club," said Wren Hall, CMH director of community relations and development, in the release.
Teams of four competed to raise money for the CMH Medical Excellence Scholarship program, which provides financial aid to health care students. The fund has assisted more than 750 students to date. The tournament was presented by SGC Foodservice.
CMH's website indicates more than $2.6 million in assistance has been provided in the 33 years the golf tournament has been held.
