Community Foundation of the Ozarks Inc. announced $60,000 in grants for six recipients in the latest round of its employee transportation initiative.
The funds are allocated through the Let’s Get to Work Fund, which has issued $680,000 in grants since its launch late last year, according to a news release. The program helps employees and job seekers receive funding for gas cards and auto repairs, among other transportation needs.
The latest grant recipients are:
• city of Springfield’s Department of Workforce Development, $20,000 to help job seekers in the Missouri Job Center’s Ozark Region, comprising Christian, Dallas, Greene, Polk, Stone, Taney and Webster counties;
• Community Outreach Ministries, $10,000 to help people in Polk County with a focus on its Pathways program;
• Help Give Hope, $10,000 for its used car program that helps families in Greene, northern Christian and western Webster counties;
• Live 2 Give Hope, $10,000 to assist people in Laclede, Camden, Miller, Morgan, Moniteau, Dallas, Texas, Pulaski and Wright counties, with a focus on the foster care community;
• Flourish CDC, $5,000 to provide funds to individuals in Springfield participating in its Coach House or Life Change Plan programs; and
• West Central Missouri Community Action Agency, $5,000 to help residents of Hickory County.
CFO in May received a $150,000 anonymous donation for its Let's Get to Work Fund, according to past reporting. It's also been supported financially by David and Stacey O’Reilly, the O’Reilly Charity Golf Classic Fund, Bass Pro Shops, the Jeannette L. Musgrave Foundation and other donors.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
