CCO finds partner to take over adult day care program

Posted online

Council of Churches of the Ozarks secured a partner to take over its recently closed adult day care program for people with developmental disabilities.

West Plains-based Restoring Hope LLC in mid-April plans to open an adult day care in space formerly occupied by Daybreak, according to a news release. CCO's program closed in January due to staffing shortages.

“Restoring Hope has the resources and ability to provide guests with a long-term loving and inclusive environment that feels like home," CCO CEO Jaimie Trussell said in the release. "While this was a very difficult season for our families and staff, we do feel confident that we have secured the best possible partner and the best path forward for our neighbors in need.”

Restoring Hope is working with CCO on the transition. The West Plains nonprofit has hired several key positions, including several former Daybreak employees.

"We are grateful to provide this opportunity for families who previously partnered with Daybreak," Restoring Hope CEO Staci Owen said in the release. "Restoring Hope’s vision for the program is to provide a safe, stable and supportive environment for individuals while fostering quality relationships, community involvement and a desire to build independence."

CCO, which recently took over operations of Diaper Bank of the Ozarks, is preparing to consolidate its services into a former SRC Holdings Corp. building at 3055 E. Division St., according to past reporting.
