Springfield-based Carnahan Evans PC hired a Kutak Rock LLP partner.
Attorney James Meadows has joined Carnahan Evans as of counsel in the firm's litigation and business law groups, according to a news release. He started in May, according to his LinkedIn profile.
"Mr. Meadows has a broad range of experience in business and real estate disputes, including multimillion-dollar claims," officials said in the release.
At Carnahan Evans, Meadows is one of four of counsel attorneys, joining Courtney Fletcher, Robyn Horton and Shawn Battagler. The release also names 10 shareholders and four who hold the senior counsel role.
Meadows' practice focuses on contract disputes, real estate claims, construction payment and defect claims, insurance coverage actions and employment cases.
Meadows worked for nearly five years at Omaha, Nebraska-based Kutak Rock's Springfield office, according to his LinkedIn profile.
He was one of roughly a dozen attorneys and staff members who left Lathrop Gage LLP in 2018 to form the local office of Kutak Rock, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting. The exodus prompted Lathrop Gage’s closure in Springfield.
