Ensley & Swann Boutique & Marketplace is closing its doors after nearly six months in business on Commercial Street.
In a Feb. 1 Facebook post, Ensley & Swann announced Feb. 15 would be the shop’s last day at 200 E. Commercial St.
“The traffic and sales weren’t up to expectations,” said co-owner Matt Battaglia, who opened the store with his wife, Andrea.
Reached this morning, Battaglia declined to disclose sales.
The Battaglias’ Nixa-based e-commerce business, dubbed Girls Clothing Hut, will remain in operation, he said. Girls Clothing Hut was founded in 2008, and the Battaglias purchased it in 2018, according to past Springfield Business Journal reporting.
Ensley & Swann sells clothing for women, children and babies, as well as art, candles, jewelry and home decor.
The C-Street building owned by Mary Collette previously was vacant for about a year, housing All Good Stuff Antique and Collectibles before Ensley & Swann set up shop, according to past reporting.
