Bryan Properties has deep roots in the Ozarks

Posted online

Bryan Properties has deep roots in the Ozarks. Developments by the eponymous real-estate company led by Bryan Magers flourish across our region — in Springfield, Ozark, Branson, Lebanon, and Harrison, Ark. — with more planned in Nixa and Joplin.

The people who work at Bryan Properties embrace the company’s philosophy, as voiced by Magers: “Treat people well. It’s the right thing to do.”

The principle guides everyday work life at the company. The people who live in Bryan Properties’ apartments are “residents,” not “tenants.” They reside in communities where safety and security are priorities, where a local manager and maintenance crew are there to help.
The mindset extends to the company’s website — LifeWithBryan.net — with an emphasis on helping people thrive across the chapters of their lives: from student housing to apartment living; from single-family homes to hotels for family getaways; from management services to development opportunities for equity partners.

Across the company, Magers instills confidence in the people who work with him. He provides opportunities for workers to learn every aspect of the company and to embrace new challenges. The result? A promising person in accounting becomes the manager at one of the company’s hotels. A front-desk worker is promoted to the finance department.

Magers gathers staff for lunch meetings, updates everyone on company projects and future plans, and encourages them to think about their roles in growing themselves, and Bryan Properties, over the next decade and beyond.

He also encourages a healthy work-life balance, with an emphasis on fun. Magers treated several employees in 2023 to a front-row experience when Cheap Trick played the Gillioz. Last July, more than a dozen Bryan Properties workers enjoyed the Rolling Stones concert from the Freedom Tower at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena. Others took in shows and concerts at Springfield Little Theatre and Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts.

A native of Springfield, Magers believes in giving back to the city and the Ozarks. He supports workers volunteering their time as individuals and as a company team to better our communities. That’s led to team efforts at places like Ozarks Food Harvest and Care to Learn. Bryan Properties employees have also donated as individuals and teams to Watching Over Whiskers, the Lebanon-Laclede County Library, and several neighborhood cleanup efforts.

Bryan Properties believes there’s value in doing good work — and doing the right thing for its residents, guests, and business partners.
