Branson city attorney resigns for Greene County role

The city of Branson's three-year city attorney is resigning for a job in Greene County.

Chris Lebeck is slated to start in February as a senior prosecutor in the special victim's unit of the Greene County prosecuting attorney's office, according to a news release.

It's a return to the Greene County prosecuting attorney's office for Lebeck, who served a stint there 2005-07, according to his LinkedIn profile.

"I am grateful Chris is returning to Greene County as an assistant prosecuting attorney and look forward to the impact I know he and his experience will bring to the office and our community,” Greene County Prosecutor Dan Patterson said in the release.

Lebeck’s last day at the city of Branson is Feb. 11. The city has started a nationwide search for his successor.

In Branson, he has served three different mayors, provided legal advice to the Board of Aldermen and city staff and served residents as the municipal prosecutor for ordinance violations, according to the release.

"This was not an easy decision, as I will miss the incredible staff that works hard every day to move the city forward for the benefit of the public," Lebeck said in the release.

The listing for the city attorney position in Branson shows an annual salary range of $91,022 to $136,556.
