Big Whiskey’s franchisee signs on for Jeff City

Big Whiskey’s is headed to the state capital.

H2B Restaurants LLC, a franchise operation with Springfield roots, is planning a summer opening for a restaurant that’s less than a mile away from the Missouri Capitol building in Jefferson City, according to a news release.

“Making our mark in central Missouri has been a goal for quite a while,” said Paul Sundy, Big Whiskey’s co-founder and senior vice president of operations, in the release.

It’s the second Big Whiskey’s restaurant for H2B, which is co-owned by local businessmen Ed House and Ryan Bohl of Bohl, House, & Samek CPAs. H2B in May 2017 opened a franchise in Lee’s Summit, though Big Whiskey’s spokeswoman Laura Head Elliott said via email the location became corporate owned in March.

“We wanted to expand our footprint in the Kansas City market. They were looking for an opportunity to open a location in Jeff City to be closer to home,” she said. “It was the perfect fit to make the transition for both parties.”

The Jefferson City Big Whiskey’s is slated to open in a newly renovated multiuse center near the Missouri River, according to the release.

The estimated investment for a single franchise restaurant is $755,500 to $1.4 million, including a $50,000 franchise fee, according to BigWhiskeysFranchise.com.

Big Whiskey’s latest franchise opened last month in Las Vegas. Big Whiskey’s now has 11 restaurants, two of which are franchises, according to the release.

Earlier this month, Big Whiskey’s announced franchisee Radiant Investments LLC signed on for the 44-acre development called The Shoppes at Stadium Trace Village in Birmingham, Alabama. Radiant Investments hired architecture firm BatesForum for the first of its two planned locations in Alabama. The first, at The Shoppes, is expected to launch this year, according to a separate release.
