Restaurant chain Big Whiskey’s is expanding to southeast Missouri through a new franchise deal.
An eatery in Poplar Bluff is scheduled to open next year, according to a news release.
“We’ve long considered Poplar Bluff to be a community we want to be a part of," said Paul Sundy, founder and chief operating officer of Ozark-based Big Whiskey’s, in the release. "We’re very excited to see how the community responds to us."
The franchisee, BLV Whiskey’s LLC, closed a franchise deal in November with Big Whiskey's, officials said.
The ownership group of BLV Whiskey’s negotiated an agreement with Cape Girardeau-bassed Mayson Capital Partners LLC to occupy the former Scotty’s Brewhouse in Poplar Bluff, according to the release. Renovation plans include a patio, private dining room and upgraded fixtures and decor.
The restaurant is expected to employ around 75 people.
Big Whiskey's website lists 13 restaurants in Missouri, Alabama, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Earlier this year, the company penned a three-store franchise deal in Florida, according to past reporting.
