Dave Ramsey, author of three best-selling books and host of radio program The Dave Ramsey Show, is scheduled to speak Oct. 4 at College of the Ozarks in the Howell W. Keeter Athletic Complex on the Point Lookout campus.

Ramsey is the author of New York Times best-selling books "Financial Peace," "More Than Enough" and "The Total Money Makeover," which together have sold more than 6 million copies, according to the release.

The Dave Ramsey Show - which provides financial advice - has more than 4 million listeners on 450 radio stations nationwide. The show plays on Springfield station The Ozark's Big Talker, 1340 AM - 1-4 p.m., Monday through Friday - and on Joplin station The Talker, 1230 AM - 1-4 p.m., Monday through Friday, according to its Web site.

The convocation is part of the Keeter Center for Character Education, an ongoing community convocation series for the college, which has brought in several public figures, including President George W. Bush, Lady Margaret Thatcher, Secretary of State Colin Powell, Sen. Bob Dole, Sen. Elizabeth Dole and President Gerald Ford, according to the college's Web site.

“The college is honored to welcome Dave Ramsey to campus,” said Dr. Sue Head, executive director of The Keeter Center for Character Education. “His goal of helping people live debt free dovetails perfectly with the college’s own attitude toward debt. The college is debt free, and we strongly encourage our students to live by the same principle.”[[In-content Ad]]
