Bass Pro to add restaurant at rebranded hotel

Posted online

While celebrating the grand opening of a rebranded hotel in Hollister, Bass Pro Shops announced plans for an adjacent restaurant.

The company is targeting a May opening for Tall Tales Bar & Grill, according to a news release. Bass Pro yesterday debuted Angler’s Lodge on target with its goal announced late last year.

The Tall Tales restaurant will serve fish, steak and burgers, according to its website. With a sports bar theme, Tall Tales plans call for arcade games, a golf simulator and large-screen televisions to broadcast games.

The 94-room Angler’s Lodge replaces a former La Quinta Inn. Bass Pro began remodeling the hotel in October after buying the 291 Financial Drive property, according to past reporting.

The hotel is located about 10 minutes from Big Cedar Lodge, a resort on Table Rock Lake owned by Bass Pro founder Johnny Morris.

It's the second Angler's hotel concept for Morris and Bass Pro after the 2018 conversion of a Days Inn across the street from the Bass Pro and Wonders of Wildlife Museum & Aquarium campus in Springfield.
