Bass Pro Shops is hiring 350 people locally as part of an initiative to bring on workers nationwide.
The outdoor retailer announced more than 350 of its planned 7,000 hires systemwide would be for the retail stores in Springfield and Branson, as well as the company's local distribution and contact centers, according to a news release. The company also is hiring for its Cabela's subsidiary.
The company is hosting Oct. 13-14 hiring events at Bass Pro's stores in Springfield and Branson for seasonal and part- and full-time workers.
Bass Pro is the third-largest employer in the area, with 6,000 workers in a 50-mile radius of the Queen City as of July 19, according to Springfield Business Journal list research.
Estimates by Forbes put Bass Pro's annual revenue at $6.5 billion.
The Republic School District is on track to open its Intermediate School for fifth- and sixth-grade students for the 2025-26 academic year.
