4 SWMO firms rank on Forbes’ Best Employers list

Posted online

Four Springfield-area companies ranked among the top in Missouri on Forbes’ recently released America’s Best Employers By State list.

The June 5 report lists companies with at least 500 workers by employee satisfaction in partnership with market research firm Statista. Some 80,000 employees were surveyed for the list, with fields including working conditions and salaries, according to a news release.

Monett-based financial industry software firm Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY) ranked No. 2 among 78 companies liked best by Missouri workers. It was the No. 1 ranking company in southwest Missouri.

CoxHealth placed No. 18 on the list, followed locally by No. 23 O’Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) and No. 77 Pyramid Foods, the operator of Price Cutter and other grocery stores, according to Forbes.

Not all of the most-liked employers in Missouri are based in the Show-Me State. For example, Chicago-based Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA), which has a large presence in the St. Louis area, took the No. 1 spot in the survey of Missouri employees.

Jack Henry, CoxHealth and O’Reilly Automotive ranked on Springfield Business Journal’s 2018 list of the area’s largest employers, published in July last year. CoxHealth ranked No. 2, with 11,868 local employees, followed by No. 6 O’Reilly Automotive, with 2,222 local employees, and No. 7 Jack Henry, with 2,215 local employees.
