$15M mixed-use project makes progress in Republic

Posted online

A $15 million mixed-use development is well underway in Republic, and real estate agents are holding talks with potential commercial tenants.

Sean Coatney of Countryland Homes Inc. is developing the three-building project with commercial spaces and apartments on Old Stone Avenue at the intersection of highways 60 and M. The property owner is Santa Cruz, California-based Canyon View Capital Inc., he said.

Coatney said the first two buildings are in progress, with all three slated for completion in fall 2021. H Design Group LLC is the project architect.

Chris Loehr, an architect with H Design, said the largest of the three buildings – at nearly 69,000 square feet – would comprise 10 commercial spaces and 50 living units. The second building, at over 34,000 square feet, will have 36 living units, and the third roughly 20,000-square-foot building would have 24 living units. All are slated to be three floors high.

Ross Murray, president of R.B. Murray Co., said marketing for the first-floor commercial spaces went live this week. Without disclosing names, he said several companies have expressed interest.

For Coatney and Countryland Homes, it's the latest project for Canyon View Capital. His company also worked on Golden Pond Apartments in Springfield for owner Canyon View.

Coatney said Canyon View Capital also owns the apartment complex, called Old Stone Apartments, adjacent to the new mixed-used development in Republic. He said the new development is dubbed 60 West.

The intersection in Republic also is where CoxHealth is building one of its "super clinics," referring to facilities with multiple types of health care in one place.

A growing list of construction projects are underway in Republic, including an Amazon warehouse and a Convoy of Hope distribution center.
