Project description: Battlefield’s first craft brewery, Wire Road Brewing Co., is coming to fruition in time for a November opening. Co-owner Kary Walker, who forms half of one of the two couples who dreamed up the project, said the brewery’s tap room will offer indoor seating for 94, including a spacious bar with 20 taps behind it. He said the patio will have covered and heated seating, with an additional 10 outdoor taps. The south end of the 1.5-acre site will feature a lighted beer garden. The brewery will use a complete turnkey brewhouse, cellar and serving system furnished by metal fabricator Paul Mueller Co., according to general contractor Michael Nesbitt. Wire Road will serve beer varieties such as vanilla porter, kolsch and Belgian ale, as well as wine, coffee and tea.
Utah-based gourmet cookie chain Crumbl Cookies opened its first Springfield shop; interior design business Branson Upstaging LLC relocated; and Lauren Ashley Dance Center LLC added a second location.
