Yum Brands reports quarterly earnings increase

Yum Brands, the owner of Taco Bell and KFC, reported first-quarter net income of $280 million.

That's up from $226 million a year earlier.

Excluding items, the company earned 65 cents per share, beating the average analyst estimate of 60 cents per share.
