Project description: Thermo King of Springfield LLC is moving to a 6-acre parcel just east of the Partnership Industrial Center. Co-owner Wayne Smith has said the new building’s layout will accommodate the sales, service and parts departments for some 30 employees. Thermo King handles temperature control equipment for the trucking industry. Derington Architects LLC designed the facility, including 15 service bays, to install and service refrigeration units for over-the-road trucking, said Lowell Thomas of Richard Kramer Construction. Smith co-owns the Thermo King dealership with John Cooper of The Harry Cooper Supply Co. and an equity partner, Tim Fry.
