The Springfield city clerk’s office soon will start accepting applications for the City Council seat left vacant by Kristi Fulnecky.
For the General Seat C council position, City Clerk Anita Cotter will take applications Oct. 1-12 at her office on the fourth floor of the Busch Municipal Building, 840 N. Boonville Ave. The applications are available online, according to a news release.
Council plans to reviews the applications at the governing body’s Oct. 16 meeting and conduct interviews with finalists on Oct. 25.
To qualify, applicants must be registered voters in Springfield, must have lived in the city for at least two years, must prove they do not have delinquent taxes and must not have a felony conviction, according to the release.
The winning candidate would serve through the April 2, 2019, election, when Fulnecky’s term was slated to end. General Seat C, as well as the mayor and four other council seats, are up for election in the spring.
Fulnecky, who also is president of Fulnecky Enterprises LLC and owner of Fulnecky Law LLC, resigned from council earlier this month because she’s moving outside city limits.
