As the bankruptcy case involving John Q. Hammons’ trust winds down, the late hotelier’s southeast Springfield home is hitting the market with a price tag of $1 million.

Murney Associates, Realtors agent Sherrie Loveland was chosen as the exclusive broker for the 2450 S. Skyline Drive home in Southern Hills, according to a news release.

“In addition to the prestigious pedigree of the home, it’s also in a prime Springfield location,” Loveland said in the release.

The nearly 5,000-square-foot home, enclosed by ornate fencing, was built in 1978 in Southern Hills, which Hammons co-developed. He and his wife lived at the 2.8-acre estate for more than 25 years, according to the release.

Hammons’ former home is included in a roughly $1 billion bankruptcy deal reached between his trust and JD Holdings LLC, the largest creditor in the case.

The federal bankruptcy court in the District of Kansas approved the deal May 11.
