Volkswagen confirms $4.3B US settlement

Volkswagen AG officials confirmed Tuesday the company negotiated a $4.3 billion draft settlement with U.S. regulators over its diesel emissions scandal.

The company also plans to plead guilty to criminal misconduct.

VW also will be watched by an independent monitor during the next three years.
