President Donald Trump signed an executive order meant to promote employment for people on public assistance.
"The federal government should do everything within its authority to empower individuals by providing opportunities for work, including by investing in federal programs that are effective at moving people into the workforce and out of poverty," the order reads.
The order enforces work requirements that already are in the law. It also calls on a review of waivers and exemptions to such mandates.
