Toyota has temporarily halted its self-driving car tests after an autonomous vehicle operated by Uber struck and killed a pedestrian.
The Sunday accident in Tempe, Arizona, prompted Uber to stop autonomous vehicle tests in Tempe, Pittsburgh, San Francisco and Toronto.
“We’ve told our drivers to take a couple of days off so we can assess the situation,” said Rick Bourgoise, a Toyota spokesman.
