T-Mobile hiring for Springfield call center

Posted online
T-Mobile USA is holding a hiring event today at its Springfield call center.

The event is scheduled 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the call center, 2645 N. Airport Plaza.

Mark Conrad, general manager of the Springfield T-Mobile call center, said the company is seeking to fill 60 full-time customer service and sales representative positions that became available via attrition. He said new employees could begin work in the second week of June, and the call center would continue to hire additional employees throughout the year.

The Springfield T-Mobile call center is among 17 of the company's 24 call centers spared in a batch of closures expected to affect 1,900 employees, according to a late March announcement. The Lenexa, Kan., call center is one of the affected locations, but it isn't clear whether employees from other call centers will relocate to Springfield.

Conrad said the hirings planned at the Springfield call center are unrelated to the closings of other T-Mobile call centers.

"[We're] trying to keep our hiring going to keep the appropriate amount of staff in the building," he said.[[In-content Ad]]
