Studio 417 to move all operations to Farmers Park

Posted online
After opening their second shop at Farmers Park early last year, Studio 417 owners Paul and Hannah Catlett are relocating all salon operations to the south-side development.

Hannah Catlett said the downtown location, 444 W. McDaniel St., which opened in October 2000, will move its 12 stylists and five support staff to Farmers Park July 7. The last day of business downtown is July 3, she said, and with the move, the Farmers Park location would have 27 hair stylists and 13 support staff.

“Sales in 14 months at Farmers Park were equal to what took us 14 years to build downtown,” Catlett said, declining to disclose revenues but noting sales growth of 44 percent in 2014 and a projected increase of 25-30 percent this year. “The opportunity for business on the south side of Springfield is much greater.

“We believe getting our staff under one roof will allow us to continue to grow and create more for the industry in this town than we would have the opportunity to do at two locations.”

Catlett said Hudson Hawk Barber & Shop, which the couple operates with Thad Forrester, would continue to do business in the downtown building the husband and wife own. Hudson Hawk, which also operates a location in Farmers Park, recently opened a fourth shop at 734 W. Kearney St.

Catlett said it hasn’t been determined what the couple will do with the 3,200-square-foot space that currently houses Studio 417 downtown. The Farmers Park location is housed in 4,500 square feet, she said.[[In-content Ad]]
