Minimally viable product …
No Coast Coffee is a small batch roaster in Springfield providing specialty grade, sustainably sourced coffee from around the world. We are committed to supporting worldwide missions through our 20 percent giveback with every purchase.

Problem solving …
No Coast was started to share our passion for coffee with others and to give back to missions while doing so. We are both in full-time ministry and No Coast is just an extension of that for us really. We provide around 100 customers with fresh-roasted, sustainably harvested coffee to their doorsteps and in turn our customers have a role in ministry.

Seed money …
We started this business with under $10,000 invested. More important than that though are the family, friends and community we have around us who supported it and helped get No Coast off the ground.

Hurdles …
The largest hurdle we have is just marketing our product, as we don’t have a storefront. We started exclusively online to individuals and are working on building wholesale clients. However, that process is slow and takes a lot of work. Our coffee is available in Travellers House Coffee and at Sunshine Bike Shop in retail bags.

Next phase …
The plan is to continue growing at the pace the Lord has for us and building the ministry aspect of it. So far the funds have gone toward a mission trip to Morocco and to a missionary couple in Haiti. We would love to work directly with farmers and visit the farms to learn more about their operations. Most importantly, though, is to share how Jesus Christ has changed our lives and how our gifts and talents can be used to glorify him.

Pivot …
Initially, I would have liked to be exclusive to individuals and people making coffee at home. I have a passion for people to experience a great cup of coffee in their home and to realize you don’t have to be in a shop to be wowed by a cup of coffee. Moving toward, securing wholesale clients is the next step we see happening, though.
