Senate confirms William Barr as attorney general

By a 54-45 vote that was mostly along party lines, the U.S. Senate yesterday confirmed William Barr as attorney general.

Barr is slated to supervise special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into whether President Donald Trump's campaign conspired with Russia in the 2016 election.

Rod Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general who appointed Mueller, is expected to exit his post soon after previously announcing his resignation.
