Posted online

Springfield Contractors Association’s 33rd annual banquet celebrating notable projects, developers and leaders in construction is scheduled Nov. 9. The Salute to Design and Construction Awards banquet honors industry professionals with multiple awards, including Developer and Project Team of the Year, Craftsman and Superintendent of the Year, Lifetime Achievement Award and Women of the Year.

The event will begin with a social hour at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m. at Oasis Hotel & Convention Center, 2546 N. Glenstone Ave.

At last year’s event, City Utilities of Springfield took home the top honor as Developer of the Year for the new bus transfer station on Main Street. The crews behind Phase II of Springfield Public Schools’ $10.2 million Kickapoo High School renovation received the other top honor as Project Team of the Year. Five inaugural lifetime achievement honors also were presented to Bill Adams, Elise Crain, Jack Hood, Ralph Manley and Windsor Warren.

According to SCA’s website, the first event was held in 1985, one of 12 “salutes” to different industries including health care, military, agriculture and government.
