Seems like this is just a way to make it easier for thieves to access your packages. I would like to see an opt out feature for this type of action. I know it would make it easier for UPS & FedEX removing the need to run to your door, ring the doorbell/knock and run back to the truck before you can answer. But I don’t see them reducing delivery rates. I think a better idea is for the USPS to close one day a week. Also, they already contract delivery for FedEX and I have to wonder if that is a profitable venture. If the USPS is run like a business rather than a quasi government entity then they might be a profitable venture.
