Price Cutter golf tourney raises record $782K

The 2011 Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper raised roughly $782,000 for Ozarks charities, the highest total in the tournament's history.

During the annual Celebration of Sharing held yesterday at Highland Springs County Club, the John Q. Hammons Foundation distributed donations to 43 children's charities. The tournament was held in August at Highland Springs.

Proceeds from the 2011 PCCC given to charities represents an increase of $69,847, or 9.8 percent, from last year's tournament, according to a news release.

In alphabetical order, the charities that received funding through the tournament were:

  • AIDS Project of the Ozarks, $7,888;
  • Ambassadors for Children, $10,936;
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ozarks, $24,300;
  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Springfield, $23,311;
  • Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks, $27,208;
  • Camp Barnabas, $10,115;
  • Cardinals Care Foundation, $27,727;
  • Champion Athletes of the Ozarks, $13,132;
  • Champions Committed to Kids, $3,605;
  • Children’s Miracle Network, $19,602;
  • Children’s Smile Center, $17,043;
  • Convoy of Hope, $14,389;
  • Developmental Center of the Ozarks, $11,627;
  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes, $64,758;
  • Fordland Clinic-Community Health Center, $8,073;

The Price Cutter Charity Championship presented by Dr Pepper is a PGA Tour golf tournament on the Nationwide Tour. One of only four of the existing tour stops on the original Hogan Tour, the PCCC celebrated in 22nd anniversary this summer.

The 2012 tournament is scheduled to be held Aug. 3-13 at Highland Springs.[[In-content Ad]]
