Porsche denies speculation that it's planning to go public

After Porche's chief financial officers hinted at the idea, the German company's leaders said they don't intend to take the Porsche brand public.

Officials were responding to the CFO's comment that an initial public offering could create an $80 billion company.

The discussion follows the success of Ferrari's foray into public ownership. The Italian supercar maker has an estimated value of around $22 billion.
