PG&E prepares to file for bankruptcy

PG&E Corp. is preparing to file for bankruptcy in the wake of the deadly California wildfires.

California's largest utility company faces more than $30 billion in potential liability costs from the fires last year.

The company announced CEO Geisha Williams was stepping down. John Simon, the company’s general counsel, is serving as interim CEO during a search for a successor.
