Gov. Mike Parson announced a legislative special session will start Sept. 9.
He's seeking to address a recent Missouri Supreme Court decision that found money from the sale of only one vehicle could be used to lower the sales tax on the purchase of a new one. Previously, proceeds of more than one vehicle sale could be used toward lowering the sales tax.
“The enforcement of this decision would create a financial burden on Missouri taxpayers and unnecessary government red tape that we can proactively prevent,” Parson said.
